Chronic or habitual constipation
Adverse Reaction:
Infusion increases blood lactate levels,dangerous in the presence of hypoxia and alcohol infusion. Facial flushing,diarrhoea,abdominal pain and sweating. Overdose causes hyperosmolar state with diuresis, lactic acidosis and hyperuricaemia.
Contra-Indications:
Heridity fructose intolerance,methyl alcohol poisoning. Special precautions: Impaired renal/hepatic function,lactic acidosis.
