Drug Interaction:
Benzodiapines include- Alprozolam, Chlordiazepoxide, Clonazepam, Clorazepate,Diazepam, Halazepam, Lorazepam,Oxazepam, Prazazepam Refer Diazepam
+ Lorazepam- Alcohol- Potentiation of CNS depression produced by alcohol,general anaesthestics,narcotic analgesics, tricylic antidepressants and MAOIs.
Nefazodone- substantially and clinically important increases in increases in plasma concentrations of alprozolam and triazolam have occured. Lorazepam was not affected Others,none of clinical significance.
Indication:
Anxiety disorders.

Adverse Reaction:
Drowsiness,headache,dizziness,blurred vision,nausea, confusion,ataxia(overdosage).
Contra-Indications:
Hypersen to benzodiapines,neonates.
Special precautions:
Pregnancy,lactation,severe hepatic and renal dysfunction, acute narrow angle glaucoma & children below 6 years, pulmonary insufficiency.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications:
Anxiety disorders.
Dosage:
Individualise dose.
Oral - 2 to 6mg/day in divided doses.
Anxiety - initial dose 2 to 3mg 2 or 3 to times a day.

1.May cause drowsiness; avoid driving or other tasks requiring alertness.
2.Avoid alcohol or other CNS depressants.

4.Do not discontinue the drug abruptly.
