Indication Type Description:
Drug Interaction:
Vasoconstritive effect enhanced by sympathomimemetic drugs. Useful combination with oxytocin in control postpartum haemorrhage due to urine atony.
Indication:
Post partum and post -abortal haemorrhage and atony Subinvolution of uterus Symptomatic treatment of uterine bleeding
Adverse Reaction:
Confusion,coma,hypo/hypertension and seizures may be fatal. Headache, dizziness, tinnitus, Abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, Hypertension, chest pain, palpitation, Dysponea, bradycardia.
Contra-Indications:
Induction/augumentation of labour during delivery of living foetus, pre-ecalmpsia, eclampsia, A.V.shunts, angina, M.I. Special precautions: Heart diseases, peripheral obliterative vascular disease, multiple pregnancies.

Dosage-
1ml by i.m. or as required
1 tab 3 times daily as required
