Anticholinergics /antispasmodics--
Atropine, Ballodona, Clinidium, Dicyclomine, Glycopyrrolate, Hyoscyamine,
Mephenzolate, Propantheline, Scopolamine
Refer - Glycopyrrolate
Additive anticholinergic effect with tricyclic antidepressants, phenpthiazines and dysopyramide. Delayed gastric emptying causes delayed absorption of other drugs.
Indication:
Adjunct therapy in treatment of peptic ulcer.

Mephenzolate, Propantheline, Scopolamine

Adverse Reaction:
Cardiac arrhythmias.
Toxic megacolon(pre-existing ulcerative colotis)
Glaucoma, urinary retension, tachycardia, orthosatic hypotension especially in elderly.
Contra-Indications:
Glaucoma,obstructive disease of GI tract & intestinal atony.
Special Precautions:
Prostatic hypertrophy,pyloric stenosis.Where tachycardia is undesirable.Hiatus hernia with reflux oesophogagitis.
Pregnancy,lactation,elderly.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications:
Adjunct therapy in treatment of peptic ulcer.
Dosage:
15mg 30 minutes before meals and at bed time.
For geriatric patients and those with small stature, take 7.5mg 3 times daily.
Children- safety and efficacy not established.

1.Take the medicines as directed by the doctor.
2.Do not take more of it or more often than advised by the doctor.
3.Do not take the medicine longer than prescribed.
