Rationale for combination-

International guidelines have strongly endorsed fixed -dose combinations for first-line and
second line treatment of hypertension

ACE inhibitors and CCB  combinaton stand out among recommended combinations for either
complementary  mechansims of action which lead to enhanced efficacy

The Anglo-Scandinavian cardiac outcomes Trial Blood Pressure Lowering Arm ( ASCOT- BPLA )
trail demonstrates a significant reduction in risk of cardiovascular and all-cause death, stroke,
coronary events, and procedures, new onset diabetes and new onset renal impairment with
combination with amlodipine and peridopril in a wide range of patients with hypertension.

Amlodipine and perindopril is an ideal evidence based combination in the treatment
of hypertension
 

Contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
