Adverse Reaction:
Cough, headache, asthenia, dizziness,rash, Symptomatic hypotension, palpitations, arrhythmias, Malaise, fever, nausea, vomiting, Diarrheoa, angioneurotic oedema, bone marrow depression, Agranulocytosis, hyperkalemia, Alopecia, sweating, Bronchitis, increased SGOT (AST)
Contra-Indications:
Angioneurotic odema, heriditary idiopathic or related to previous ACE inhibitor therapy Aortic stenosis or outflow obstruction Pregnancy, lactation
Special precautions-
Hemodialysis, renal or hepatic impirment ZMonitor renal function before and during therapy Congestive heart failure. Salt or volume depletion.
Monitor serum electrolytes Monitor for neutropenia, in collagen vascular and/or renal disease, bilateral renal artery stenosis Surgery, anaethesia Avoid hypotension in CHF, IHD, or cerebrovascular didsease
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indication -Left ventricular dysfunction following MI
Dosage-
Initially 0.5mg once daily starting 3 days post MI. Increase gradually to maintenance 4mg once daily. Discontinue diuretics 2-3 days before starting, resume later if required Children- not recommended
