Dosage:
Initial dosage- for hypertension- 1mg once daily. Postural effects are most likely to occur between 2 and 6 hours after a dose, therefore take blood pressure measurements during this time period after the first dose and with each increase.

DOXAZOSIN MESYLATE- ANTIADRENERIC AGENTS PERIPHERAALY ACTING

3. Allergies- Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reactions to doxazosin, prazosin, or terazosin.or other related medicines. Also tell your doctor if your are allergic to any other substances such as foods, preservatives or dyes.
4. Pregnancy- before taking this medicine make sure that your doctor knows if you are pregnant o if you may become pregnant.
5. Breast feeding- mothewrs who are taking this medicine and also who wish to breast-feed should discuss this their doctor
6. Children- no specific information available comparing use of doxazosin in children with use other age groups
7. Elderly- dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting may be especially likely to occur inelderly patients with high blood pressure because these patients are usually more sensitive to the effects of doxazosin
8. Other medicines- tell your doctor if you are taking any of the following- if you are taking nonprescription or OTC medicines
9. Other medical problems - Kidney disease - possible increase to the effects of doxazosin Liver disease - effects of doxazosin may be increased, which may increase the chance of side effects
10. Missed dose- If you miss a dose of this medicine take it as soon as possible. However if it is almost time for your next dose go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double doses.
