Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Glaucoma - treatment of open-angle glaucoma ( use only when shorter -acting miotics have proved inadequate) Dosage: Do not use more often than directed. Caution is necessary to aviod overdosage. Individualise dosage to obtain maximal therapeutic effect.
Closely observe the patient during the initial period. If the response is not adequate within the first 24 hrs, consider other measures. Keep frequency of use to a minimum in all patients, especially children, to reduce chance of iris cyst development. Instill 1 or 2 drops into the eye(s).

Antiglaucoma agents include- Demecarium. Ecothiophate, Isoflurophate
1. Allergies- Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reactions to the demecarium, echothiophate, or isoflurophate. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any substances such as foods, preservatives or dyes.
2. Pregancy- because of the toxicity of these medicines in general, demecarium, echothiophate, and isoflurophate are not recommended during pregnancy
3. Breast feeding- these medicines are not recommended during breast feeding, because they may cause unwanted efects in nursing babies.
4. Children- when can cause serious effects in any patient. When this medicine is used for a long time, eye cysts may occur. These occur more often in children than adults.
5. Elderly- these medicines can cause serious side effects on any patient
6. Other medicines- Tell your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines- Amanatdine or Anticholinergics or Antidepressants or Antidyskinetics or Antihistamines or Antimyasthenics or Antipsychotics or Buclizine or Carbamazepine or Cyclizine or Cyclobenzaprine or Disopyramide or Flavoxate or Ipratropium or Meclizine or Methylphenidate or Orphenadrine or Oxybutynin or Procainamide or Promethazine or Quinidine or Trimeprazine or- may increase the possiblity of side efects . Use under doctors supervision Malathion tropical- may increase posibility of side effects.
7. Pesticides or insecticides- make sure you tell your doctor if you have exposed recently to pesticides or insecticides
8. Other medical problems- Tell your doctor if you have other medical problems- Asthma or Epilepsy or Heart disease or High blood pressure or Myasthenia gravis or Overactive thyroid or Parkinsonism or Stomach ulcer or other stomach problems or Urinary tract blockage - if this medicine is absorbed into the body it may the conditin worse Downs disease- mongolism- this medicine will cause these children to be hyperactive Eye disease problems- may incrase absorption of this medicine ito the body and make the condition worse
9. Missed dose- if you miss a dose of this medicine and your dosingschedule is - One dose every other day
Use the missed dose as soon as possible if you remember it in the day it should be used. However if you do not remember the missed dose until the next day, use it at that time. Then skip a day and start your dosing schedule again. Do not double doses.
